Now and Later ad campaign
In my Media Arts and Design capstone class, six of us were tasked with presenting a novel way to advertise Now and Later candy. We conducted primary and secondary research, developed the creative brief and determined the target audience. We then condensed our campaign to one unique big idea, creating our designs from there. Titling our campaign “Rediscover the Classics”, we connected the Now and Later candies with classic video and board games that everyone knows and loves, in order to spark a sense of nostalgia and comfort. We designed print ads, out-of-home ads, social media ads and even produced a TV ad. Guerilla marketing ideas brought the campaign to life! At the end of the semester, we put together a brand book and presented this campaign to a large audience of professors, students and alumni.
photography capstone
For my photography capstone project, I spent an entire semester capturing film photos that take a documentary approach to trends in today’s fashion. Since vintage clothing has recently surfaced as “trendy”, I decided to trace the process of sourcing, marketing and selling vintage clothing for a friend’s business called Maverick Vintage. I began by creating content for her company’s Instagram, then delving into the process she goes through to acquire her hand-picked items. I followed her with my camera through every step. I curated the process from sourcing to selling in a digital magazine called VTG.

I chose to shoot in both black and white and color film. Black and white ties in cohesively with the theme of vintage. Color film emphasizes the vibrance of the various items. Film parallels the concept of “What’s Old is New", because film has also resurfaced as being trendy.

Working on this collection allowed me to explore and cultivate my skills in a new realm of photography – photojournalism. Telling people’s stories through my photos is what I hope to continue doing throughout my career.
